Jean Paul Gaultier and Amy Winehouse

Few days ago Jean Paul Gaultier has presented his Spring/Summer 2012 collection during Paris fashion week. The fashion show was a tribute to Amy Winehouse, the great singer who died last July aged 27. Catwalk models wore beehive hairdos, heavy eyeliner and even cigarettes..Definitely in bad taste! 
Amy's father, Mitch, said the catwalk "tribute" came as a shock, and the designer used her image as a gimmick. He said to the Sun:" the family was upset to see those pictures, they were a total shock! We're proud of her influence on fashion but find black veils on models, smoking cigarettes, really in bad taste.It portrays a view of Amy when she was not at her best. It's upsetting for the family. This is purely about Gaultier making money, and that's wrong." J.S. 


Alcuni giorni fa Jean Paul Gaultier ha presentato la collezione Primavera/Estate 2012 durante la settimana della moda a Parigi. La sfilata era un tributo a Amy Winehouse, l'incredibile cantante che morì lo scorso luglio all'età di 27 anni. Le modelle avevano la tipica acconciatura di Amy, eyeliner nero e addirittura le sigarette. Decisamente di cattivo gusto!
Il padre di Amy, Mitch, ha affermato che la sfilata è stata uno shock e che lo stilista ha usato l'immagine della figlia a scopo di lucro. Il padre di Amy ha dichiarato al Sun: "la famiglia è rimasta scioccata nel vedere quelle immagini, erano sconvolgenti! Siamo orgogliosi dell'influenza che aveva Amy sulla moda, ma i veli neri delle modelle,che sfilavano fumando sigarette, davvero di cattivo gusto. Mostra il periodo in cui Amy non era nelle condizioni migliori. E' sconvolgente per la famiglia. E' soltanto una trovata di Gaultier per fare soldi, e non è affatto giusto." J.S.
