Chanel on street lights???

Have you ever noticed that on many street lights in London there is the logo of Chanel? Well, according to the legend the Duke of Westminster fell in love with Coco. He tried to convince her to marry him with this oddity, but she always refused. They met in 1925 and they were lovers till 1930...But according to the city hall the double C means "City Council". And those street lights haven't been installed before the 1950s. Which version do you prefer?? J.S


Avete mai notato che su parecchi lampioni di Londra compare il logo di Chanel? La leggenda vuole che il Duca di Westminister, innamorato di Coco, abbia usato questa stramberia per convincerla a sposarlo. Tuttavia lei rifiutò sempre. Si conobbero nel 1925 e furono amanti fino al 1930..Secondo il municipio, invece, la doppia C sta per "City Council" (appunto "municipio" ndt). Inoltre quei lampioni non furono installati prima degli anni 50. Quale versione preferite? J.S.

La leyenda dice que el Duque de Westminster, enamorado de Coco Chanel, haya utilizado esta original técnica para convencerla a casarse con él. Desafortunadamente ella le rechazó...Se conocieron en el 1925 y fueron amantes hasta el 1930...De todas formas, según el Ayuntamiento, la doble C indicaría "City Council" (es decir Ayuntamiento). Además esas farolas no fueron instaladas hasta el año 1950. ¿Que historia os gusta más?
